| ARMS ARE BEING
SMUGGLED TO THE PALESTINIANS ON ARAFAT'S PLANE Weapons and ammunition are being smuggled to the
Palestinians in Israel aboard Yasser Arafat's own
airplane. General Shaul Mofaz spoke to a committee of the
Knesset and was asked point blank how weapons are being
brought into Israel to be used against them. He answered
in no uncertain terms that the armaments are being
carried into Dahaniya Airport (where Arafat's plane
lands) freely. Dan Naveh (of the Likud party) suggested
that Dahaniya airport be destroyed. "How can we
allow war materials to be brought into our country that
are used to kill our soldiers and civilians? We have
suffered more than 1,000 shooting attacks and 61 bombing
attacks in the last few weeks. We are in a state of
war!" Barak came under fire by his colleagues for
allowing Arafat to use Israel's Dahaniya Airport so
freely. The IDF (Israel Defense Force) said Syria (under
Bashar Assad) is ready to enter into armed conflict with
Israel if there is an escalation in Lebanon, i.e.,
hitting Syrian military targets in Lebanon. The IDF has
called up reserve soldiers to assist regular forces, who
are on a high state of alert. One might ask the question:
"What is going on over there?" Could you
imagine the United States allowing Cuba or some other
country to openly import war materials that were being
used against our own people? There are many things behind
the scenes that most of us do not see or understand. It
is certainly a time for us to carefully study the
Scriptures and to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
