Nelson Njeru, winner of the 2000
Beijing Marathon, stands dejected with the China
newspaper because it failed to mention his win over more
than 10,000 other runners. Since China would not
publicize his winning time of 2 hours 13 minutes, and his
name, we are doing it here on our web site. Nelson is
from East Kenya and the Lord had me talk to him the
morning after the race. I did not realize who he was, but
the Lord knew. We were able to pray with him and bring
him the encouragement he needed at the moment. He flew
back to Kenya the same day we took these photos and

receiving some recognition for his amazing
accomplishment. He also won the Beijing Marathon in 1996.
